With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.
The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.
When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.
Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.
Simple, Custom Installation
This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.
Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.
B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer.

A lot of people told me I could not put a goose neck hitch on a 1/2 ton truck. My 2018 Silverado handled the hardware just fine and it pulls an 8,000 lb 3 horse full tack room trailer with ease. I have a 6.5 foot bed - would not recommend this on a 5 foot bed b/c if you jackknife while backing up you will smash your back window. I also recommend installation by a company that does this type of install regularly. I drove an hour to Ocala and had it done at The Hitching Post. They were fair with pricing and easy to work with. Lastly you want to keep a pair of vice grips in your truck to pull up the rollover ball when it is flat. Hay and dust gets in the cracks and it is difficult to pull it up with just your fingers.
Overall I highly recommend.
Installation instructions were good. Installation took me most of a day, working by myself. I have used it a few times to pull a medium-duty flatbed trailer, and it works like it is supposed to. Thanks.

Still works fine. it does need a shot of spray lube once in a while to keep the latch working smoothly.
Was delivered extremely fast and was relatively easy to install! Still looks brand new after a year!
The BW gooseneck hitch for my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 is a really nice product. When you make the purchase etrailer sends you a link to the excellent instructions and they send you a [installation] video showing installation. I installed it myself. I did everything they say to do except that instead of cutting a V-notch in the seam in the passenger side wheel well, I removed those four bed bolts and loosened the bed bolts on the driver side. Then I put a short board in between the frame and bed and lifted (with just a little leverage) the passenger side about 1.5 inches. I did the whole installation that way. When you gently lower the bed back down the four inch hole in your bed pretty easily finds the round shape of the hitch because the bed is loose. Also: do remove your bed liner and do cut a 4 inch hole in a board to help hold the 4 inch hole saw stable while your cutting the bed because that can be a bit of a wild ride. Least fun part of the job was getting the bolts tight on the forward and aft crossmembers of the hitch. It’s tight up in there. I could get my torque wrench on a few of the bolts but the rest involved a craftsman 3/4 inch box end with another wrench hooked sideways to the open end for extra leverage. (You gotta make that Craftsman wrench as long as your torque wrench so you know your getting them tight.) I’ll retorque my side plate bolts later because my frame is waxed. Those 3 bolts are easy to get too.
As a side note: I’m not excited about the quality of the “in bed” 7 pole plug kit, but I’ll let you know once I get it installed and use it for a while. I’m afraid the 7 connections in the actual plug are cheap and won’t be springy enough to hold a good connection at all 7 points.
This is the fourth B&W turnover gooseneck I have purchased and the quality is excellent as usual. Ship tome was amazingly fast. I live very near the Canadian border and still had the hitch within two days of ordering it. I have never had a bad experience with B&W or etrailer.com.
There is pros and cons. The pro, I was able to install it fairly easy by myself. The Con. You will need the ball extender. It sits way to close to the cab. As my trailer hit the cab when I had to make a sharp turn off the road
Harness is of very good quality and of sufficient length to locate the socket wherever desired in the truck bed. My next truck will be equipped with trailering accessories from etrailer.
I always use etrailer for all of my hitch needs, the shipping and communication is excellent from them. Etrailer's pricing is the best I've found anywhere and the install pictures and videos make it so I don't even look anywhere else when I need to make a purchase.
Great quality, fast shipping, easy installation. Came with everything needed and fit like a glove. Only wish is that it had the ball cover.
Great service from etrailer, and B&W hitch was everything I expected, solid product and instaled with no problems.
Thank you
It was easy to install

We recently set up a dealer account with etrailer after having months of on going issues with our main vendor and we couldn't be more satisfied. The process was fast and easy. This is a great company to work with. Whenever I had a question about the shipment of my product, I got great service and response. The situation was explained to me fully and the follow through was terrific. I highly recommend.

It has worked extremely well. Much better than any hitch system I’ve used on other trucks. The hitch is rated for more than the truck so there’s no fear of overloading it. I attached the B&w companion fifth wheel hitch to it hasn’t let me down and works smoothly.
I like the hitch it was easy to install and works very well

1 year later. I feel the same as above. I would not change anything in my post above.
